Joint release of myNotebook: Carbon and myNotebook: Pearl in Europe/Australia/New Zealand

Friday, August 20th, 2010

Sydney, August 20, 2010

PRESS RELEASE: Nnooo announces the launch date of myNotebook: Carbon™ and myNotebook: Pearl™ for Nintendo DSiWare™ in Europe/Australia/New Zealand.

Hot on the heels of the myNotebook: Carbon release in the Americas comes the joint launch of myNotebook: Carbon and myNotebook: Pearl in Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Scheduled for release on August 27, these two new versions of myNotebook™ allow the user to save 128 pages, export their notes to their Nintendo DSi Photo Album and unlock brand new page types. They also feature new icons to indicate the time and current battery level.

“People are excited about the new colours and functionality so we are launching 2 of the 3 new colours on the same day!” said Nnooo’s Creative Director, Nic Watt.  “We hope to launch myNotebook: Pearl very soon in the Americas and the final release of this series, myNotebook: Tan, should come out in September.” (more…)

Carbon date set for myNotebook™ in the Americas

Thursday, August 12th, 2010

Sydney, August 12, 2010

PRESS RELEASE: Nnooo announces the launch date of myNotebook: Carbon™ for Nintendo DSiWare™ in the Americas.

myNotebook: Carbon™, the latest release in the highly popular myNotebook™ series, will launch in the Americas on Monday August 16. This version allows the user to save 128 pages, export their notes to their Nintendo DSi Photo Album and unlock brand new page types. It also features new icons to indicate the time and current battery level.

“We are excited to be able to respond to user feedback” said Nnooo’s Creative Director, Nic Watt. “People love using their notebooks so much, they quickly run out of pages. A lot of the feedback we had was to not only increase the page count but also allow users to be able to export their pages. We decided that the best way to do this was to release new versions with more pages and these additional features.”

myNotebook: Carbon is expected to be launched in Europe, Australia and New Zealand later this month. An additional two new colours, myNotebook: Pearl™ and myNotebook: Tan™, are expected to be released during August and September, with the same new features as myNotebook: Carbon. These new versions are in addition to the original three myNotebook colours – blue, green and red – launched at the end of last year.

“Soon we will have a suite of six myNotebook colours to choose from”, said Watt, “giving users plenty of choice and a chance to build a myNotebook™ library!”

The myNotebook range is part of Nnooo’s myLifeCollected™ series, which also includes myPostcards™ and the soon to be released myDiary™. myDiary will allow users to organise their lives by keeping track of appointments, making daily journal entries and even setting daily alarms.

myNotebook: Carbon will cost 500 points and be available from Monday August 16 in the Americas.

Announcing myPostcards

PRESS RELEASE: Following the highly successful launch of myNotebook™ Nnooo is pleased to announce the development of myPostcards™ the second title in Nnooo’s new myLifeCollected™ range of lifestyle applications for Nintendo DSiWare™
myPostcards is a creativity application for the Nintendo DSi™ which allows users to take a photo, write a note and then share the created postcards with friends via email, traditional mail or even Facebook™. With over 50 different background themes and 12 stamps to apply users will be limited only by their imagination.
“myPostcards allows any Nintendo DSi owner to create a neat looking postcard to record any situation or event and then share it with friends. Once they have made the postcard they can email it, print it out and post it  or even upload it to Facebook”, said Nic Watt, Creative Director, Nnooo.
Users of myPostcards can take a new photo using one of the two Nintendo DSi’s cameras or choose an existing photo from their Nintendo DSi photo Album. They then write a note (or doodle), choose a background theme, apply a stamp and then save the postcard. Sharing the postcard with friends is possible by using the Facebook connectivity or SD card functionality built into all Nintendo DSi’s.
“We have worked hard to ensure that users can quickly and easily make a postcard whenever they find themselves in a situation which they simply must share with friends and family. We really like the idea of capturing a moment on camera and adding a note to share with friends. There was always something nice about getting a postcard in the mail from friends and family and we feel that with myPostcards we are providing a more modern take on this great form of communication”, said Watt.
Users can unlock new background themes to customise their postcards with while owners of previous Nnooo software are also in for some special themed backgrounds as thanks for their continued support.
myNotebook is Nnooo’s third piece of software for the Nintendo DSi™ and the second application in its new myLifeCollected range.

myNotebook gets 8/10 from Aussie-Nintendo.com

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009
Depending on your needs, myNotebook could be an essential purchase. Personally, having a digital notebook on the DSi just makes a lot of sense. I tend to take my DSi with me when I set out for my daily trips to Mars and back, but pen and paper? Yeah, not so much. It’s really something that should have been included with the system in the first place, and while Nintendo’s Flipnote Studio offers the basic functionality, this has a much better feel to it.
From Australian developer Nnooo, myNotebook is basically just that – a notebook. You get 32 pages to fill up (I felt the urge to draw Captain Falcon in mine) with a variety of pens and pencils. Holding the DSi on its side, pages are flipped with the D-Pad, or the X and B buttons for us lefties. The page turning animation and sound effect is pretty authentic! This is virtual reality, baby.
The application offers a range of options, including what colour pen you want to use, its thickness, an eraser and a clear screen trigger that’ll instantly wipe the page. This option bar can be tucked away with the tap of a button. The paper type can also be switched between lined and grid. Over time you’ll find yourself unlocking new paper designs, there are 18 in all. Those with Nnooo’s Pop+ Solo on their DSi will receive a special bubble-themed design.
Your notes are saved automatically, and the application will boot up on the last page you were writing on. It’s very quick, easy and convenient. There’s also some excellent chill out music by Beat Therapy; it’s almost scary how well suited it is. Of course, it can be turned off if you feel the need. Oh, and this review is based on myNotebook: Blue. There’ll also be a Red and Green edition, but the only difference between them is the colour of their front cover and paper.
Score: 8/10 – “Good buy”
Shopping lists, a game of hangman, general notes while out and about, Captain Falcon, whatever! It’s obviously not going to be for everyone, but myNotebook is a handy and well designed application.

Aussie-Nintendo recently reviewed myNotebook: Blue and gave us an amazing 8/10 :) You can read the review below or on Aussie-Nintendo.com (here).

myNotebook gets 7/10 from Nintendolife.com

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

Nintendolife recently reviewed myNotebook: Blue and gave us a great 7/10. Below is the full review or you can read it on NintendoLife here (and add your comments to the already massive amount). Thanks again to NintendoLife for all the great work they have put in to support us and myNotebook.

Delivering what the DSi should’ve already had. Until now, Nnooo only released one arcade-like highscore game on WiiWare and DSiWare. And though one game is hardly enough to go by, we were still quite surprised to find out that their next project was not another game, but rather a simple application.
myNotebook pretty much does what the title implies – It gives you a virtual notebook consisting of 32 pages, on which you can leave all sorts of messages, notes, doodles and drawings. When you think about it now, it’s actually really weird that such a feature was not included on the DSi from the get-go. (more…)

Pop+ Solo gets 8.5/10 from Aussie-Nintendo.com

Monday, August 24th, 2009

The following is the review Aussie-Nintendo.com gave Pop+ Solo. You can read the original post here.

It may not look like much, but Pop+ Solo – developed right here in Australia – is an incredibly addictive little game. The unique experience it offers manages to strike an interesting balance, as it can turn the player into a complete wreck whilst feeling relaxed at the same time.

A follow-up to Nnooo’s WiiWare title, Pop+ Solo expands upon the concept with a host of new game modes and options. Essentially, you’re poppin’ bubbles. However, frantically stabbing the touch screen at everything that floats on by won’t get you far; Pop is all about quick thinking and causing huge chain reactions. Grabbing hold of a bubble, you can pump it up, increasing its size by gently shaking up and down. Release, and it’ll explode, wiping out any bubbles of the same colour nearby. From there, you’re given a brief window of time to continue the combo in order to wrack up the big points and keep the all-important timer going.
