PRESS RELEASE: Nnooo named as finalist in NSW Export Awards
Sydney based independent game developer Nnooo has been named as a finalist in this year’s NSW Export Awards, an annual program which aims to recognise excellence in the export of goods and services by NSW business. The Awards acknowledge the important contribution of businesses to the economy through job creation and increased prosperity for the community and for the state of NSW.
“We’re thrilled to be recognised for our contribution to the NSW economy,” said Bruce Thomson, Business and Marketing Director at Nnooo. “The resurgence of game development in Australia is due largely to the increasing number of small studios like ourselves who generate our own IP, make innovative games across multiple platforms and market them globally.”
The finalists were announced by The Export Council of Australia. Nnooo is a finalist in the Information and Communication Technology category.
Ian Murray, Executive Chairman of the Export Council said of the finalists, “The big stand out is the ability of many of these companies to apply innovative ways of doing business. Not just through product innovation but most notably through introducing different methods of marketing and distribution channels as well as new forms of technology.”
“Over 97% of our sales are exports,” said Thomson. “Digital distribution means our games are always available in many countries around the world. It’s also encouraging to see the Export Council of Australia recognising the growing importance of video game development on the local economy.”
The winners of each award category will be announced at the Premier’s NSW Export Awards night on 16th October at the Sydney Conference and Exhibition Centre.
