Mirrors Edge thoughts

Wednesday, December 17th, 2008

I have been playing Mirrors Edge now for a couple of weeks (off and on while I level my Paladin in World of Warcraft up to 80…).

I purchased Mirrors Edge based on the demo, which for me is quite rare as normally demos put me off games. The demo really made you feel able to go anywhere and do anything, or at least left me with those impressions. The retail game has moments of making you feel awesome and really fired up with all the great moves you can do.

Dead Rising

Wednesday, November 8th, 2006

Wow! That’s is one of the best words to describe Dead Rising. It is such a unique take on the Zombie genre at to my mind the most fun. Sure Resident Evil 4 was great but for me most Zombie games find themselves hamstrung by the fact that Zombies are slow. Not Capcom. Here we have slow, stupid Zombies but so much fun!

Dead Xbox 360 part 3 – It’s alive!

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

Well I have got my 360 back :) And it seems to be working perfectly! I have stopped playing Enchant Arms while I get stuck into a bit of Dead Rising (lvl 45 now and onto Overtime Mode).

I’m really enjoying Dead Rising and will try to do a write up of my thoughts sometime soon. Hopefully before I get my hands on Gears of War (which is looking to be a fine game).

Dead Xbox 360 part 2

Monday, October 2nd, 2006

Well MSoft have my 360 and it should be repaired soon and back in my paws hopefully by the end of the week :)

I can’t wait as I now have Lego Star Wars, Dead Rising and finishing of Enchant Arms. That combined with all the great downloads from TGS and X06 and I need it now (I hope the downloads are not removed by the time I get it back).

I will definitely be checking out Need for Speed Carbon, the Banjo and Kazooie movie, Doom, FEAR and just for laughs Sonic.

Dead Xbox 360 :(

Monday, September 25th, 2006

Well my Xbox 360 has had a happy life until this weekend when he couldn’t manage the strains of next-gen graphics anymore :(

I was playing the excellent Enchant Arms and it appears that my launch 360 had a fault which was just hiding in wait for the right time to strike. This weekend was when it chose to do so.

The news is not all bad though! Although I have moved to Australia and my 360 was a UK launch model ever gracious Microsoft have whisked it away and are in the process of diagnosing its ills. I should be back up and running in no more than 10 days…

In the meantime I think I will try to complete my Pokemon collection (arggh) and finish off with the delightful Bit Generations range on GBA (more on them in a future posting).
