Spirit Hunters Inc briefing from Baron Leopold von Specter III (Grand Master Spirit Hunter)

Tuesday, November 20th, 2012

Introduction

Hello there! I’m glad to see so many potential Spirit Hunters Inc trainees at this special briefing session. We at Spirit Hunters Inc are grateful for your attention and especially thankful that you’re considering a career with Spirit Hunters Inc to rid the world of these pesky spirits!

If you decide to help us, for a very small fee we will allow you to download our special Spirit Hunters Inc software which turns your Nintendo DSi or Nintendo 3DS into a powerful spirit hunting device. As a new recruit you need to pop open your NIntendo DSi or Nintendo 3DS wherever you find yourself and hunt, battle and capture as many spirits as you can. Spirits can either be defeated (by draining their health bar completely) or captured (by trapping them with special Spirit Hunters Inc traps) when their health is low. The more spirits you defeat, the more XP you will get and the quicker you’ll level up! The more spirits you capture, the more money (in the form of Ghoulders) you will get, making it easier to afford all of the cool abilities on offer! (more…)

Spirit Hunters Inc features in final Nintendo Gamer magazine

Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012

We were really saddened to hear that the UK’s Nintendo Gamer magazine was to print its final issue this month. The closure of this publication, as well as the impending shutdown of Nintendo Power magazine in the US, marks the end of an era in Nintendo-based print coverage. Both magazines have been stalwarts of the Nintendo scene for years and both will be sadly missed by Nintendo fans everywhere.

When were were in the UK recently we visited quite a few magazines to showcase Spirit Hunters Inc and escapeVektor. One of the mags we went to see was Nintendo Gamer and shortly after our visit we heard the sad news about the publication. Given the long lead time required to feature in a magazine we figured we wouldn’t have a chance of appearing in any more issues, so imagine our surprise when a friend in the UK told us Spirit Hunters Inc had a double page feature! So you know we’ve been working like crazy to get these games finished, don’t you? Of course you do, especially if you follow us on Facebook or Twitter.

And we’ve been a little slack lately when it comes to updating this blog. So let’s get you up to date.

Spirit Hunters Inc is finished! Yes, you read correctly! FINISHED, FINISHED, FINISHED! So we can say with 100% certainty it will be released in the final quarter of this year. As soon as we have a date and price agreed with Nintendo we’ll issue a press release. We’ve also made a whole load of cool videos which we’ll be releasing once the launch date is announced, and of course we’ll be updating the Spirit Hunters Inc website with new spirit concept artwork like the images you see here, eventually showing all the spirit families. PRESS RELEASE: Nnooo receives developer approval for Wii U™

Monday, July 23rd, 2012

Sydney, July 23 2012

Australian developer Nnooo has recently received approval to develop for Nintendo’s upcoming home console, the Wii U. The Sydney based studio is the first Australian developer to announce Wii U approval.

Nnooo has been developing titles for Nintendo since the studio was formed in 2006 and is best known for US WiiWare™ launch title Pop™, the myLifeCollected™ range of lifestyle applications for Nintendo DSiWare™, and most recently escapeVektor™: Chapter 1 for WiiWare.

“We’re thrilled to receive developer approval for this exciting new console,” said Nic Watt, Creative Director at Nnooo. “We can’t wait to see what the console is capable of and already have a number of ideas we’d like to experiment with.”

Nnooo is currently developing Spirit Hunters Inc, an augmented reality RPG for Nintendo DSiWare, and escapeVektor for the Nintendo 3DS™ and PlayStation®Vita, all of which are expected to be released in the final quarter of 2012.

“We’re very close to finishing Spirit Hunters Inc and escapeVektor,” said Watt. “We’ll be showcasing the games at Gamescom in Cologne in the middle of August. Once these games are completed we’ll be prototyping some ideas for the Wii U to get a feel for what we can do. We’ve already had a quick play with the hardware and everyone in the studio is super impressed by the GamePad and the capabilities of the Wii U itself.”

Spirit Hunters Inc and escapeVektor are scheduled for release in late 2012.

Spirit Hunters Inc update

Thursday, June 28th, 2012

Spirit Hunters Inc. Remember that? Yes you do. It’s our augmented reality spirit hunting and battling RPG. We’ve been working on it for a couple of years now and we’re delighted to report it’s in good shape.

So good in fact that we took it to E3 to show journalists. Nintendo World Report are first up with their impressions of the game. They seemed to be surprised at the depth the game offers. Not a surprise to us – that’s why it’s taken us 2 years to get here!

You’ll be hearing more about the game in the coming months. In the meantime check out Nintendo World Report’s impressions and reacquaint yourself with our Spirit Hunters Inc site which will be getting updated over the next few months.

“So when is it due for release?” we hear you shout in unison. Well, we feel confident that it will be released around the 4th quarter of this year. We’re tidying the game up, testing it furiously (and having a great time while we do) and fixing those pesky bugs which always seem to find their way into games.

It will be a downloadable title for Nintendo DSiWare, so you can hunt and battle the spirits on your Nintendo DSi or on your Nintendo 3DS through the eShop. Keep an eye on this News site for more updates and information (including price) over the coming months.

Excited yet? Go on, give us a smile. You know you want to. Just like this —>

Player Attack Interview

Tuesday, June 26th, 2012

While we were at E3 we ran into Jessica Citizen from Aussie game site Player Attack.

She wanted to talk to us about E3, escapeVektor and Spirit Hunters Inc. We also sent her some exclusive new escapeVektor footage to put in the interview.

Ignore what Bruce said about escapeVektor coming to DSiWare though, it’s strictly 3DS. Poor guy was too exhausted after a hard week’s marketing!
