The critically acclaimed and award-winning Anodyne arrives on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this week.
It’s been a pleasure working with the developer, Analgesic Productions, to finally bring this gem of a game to consoles.
We were drawn to Anodyne due to its Legend of Zelda influence combined with a dark but also humorous narrative which results in a 16-bit action-adventure game with a twist.
We chatted with Sean Han Tani, the game’s creator, about the studio, the game, its positive reception and his collaboration with Marina Kittaka. (more…)
Thanks to everyone who entered our Anodyne competition.
The correct answer to our question about how long the game took to make was 10 months.
If you didn’t win, you will be able to download Anodyne on PlayStation 4 from 18 September (US) / 19 September (EU/UK/AU/NZ), or on Xbox One from 21 September.

We’re really excited to officially announce our new partnership with PlayStation First and the Academy of Interactive Entertainment. We’ll be working with talented student teams at AIE’s Sydney Melbourne, Canberra and Adelaide campuses to help them bring their games to PlayStation consoles through the PlayStation First academic programme.
We’re already working with a number of student teams and we’re showcasing some of their games on the PlayStation stand at this weekend’s PAX Australia. If you’re heading to Melbourne for PAX be sure to drop by and check them out.
We recently flew to E3, the huge video game convention in Los Angeles. We go every year as it’s a great opportunity for us to talk to Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox.
If you’ve been keeping up to date with our news you’ll know we’ve been pretty busy lately. Not only have we announced our new game, Blast ‘Em Bunnies, we’ve also been working with 2 other Australian developers to publish their games on consoles. We bringing Cubemen 2 from Melbourne studio 3 Sprockets to the Wii U. We’re also bringing ORBITOR, developed by Canberra based Evil Aliens, to console(s). Hopefully we’ll have news on which one(s) soon. If there is a specific platform you’re keen to see ORBITOR on let us know in the comments section below or send us a message via Facebook or Twitter.
The recent EB Expo video game convention in Sydney was a perfect opportunity for us to get all the developers together and showcase this trio of tremendous titles. Expos like this are a great chance for developers to talk directly to consumers, for us to show where we are in the development process and get direct feedback from the gaming public. It’s also a chance for us to spread the word via the games media who attend the event. This year’s EB Expo was also the first time we’ve had a game on a console manufacturer’s stand at a major expo with Blast ‘Em Bunnies showcasing on the PlayStation stand as well as the Nnooo booth!
