You talkin’ to me?

November 25th, 2010

This is definitely one mean spirit, taking his Mo-growing very seriously. Steven “Ogy” Ogden, on the other hand, looks like he wouldn’t be out of place in a police line-up. Are we being too harsh on Ogy? Is your money on our top programmer or the spirit to win our Movember competition? Let us know what you think either here, on our Movember 2010 forum (see our Community page) or on our Facebook page. And remember, sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.

DO NOT mess with the spirit!

Get into the Spirit of Movember

November 18th, 2010

We’re just over half way through our Movember competition between Steven and the spirit. It’s still pretty close but we think the spirit is focusing on something special for the second half of the month. Not sure if Steven’s tactics are working. Rubbing your mo in salt and then putting a bowl of water under your chin is not scientifically proven to do anything Steven! Do you have any suggestions to help Steven grow his mo? All posts will increase the amount we donate to Movember charities at the end of the month. Post here, on our Movember 2010 forum (see our Community page) or on our Facebook page. Remember, you vote for the winner at the end of the month.

Just over the halfway mark

Movember is on!

November 11th, 2010

Don’t know about you, but we like to celebrate Movember and this year one of our spirits is going head to head with Steven our software engineer. This is the state of play after 11 days of growing facial hair. We’ll keep you updated if you let us know who you think is the coolest, either by posting on the Movember forum (on our community page) or by visiting our Facebook page. You decide who the winner is at the end of the month, so your posts count!

The state of play after 11 days. Who is more cool?

Gamers complain about the price point. Critics discuss every feature revealed for the system. But what about the developers that plan to create games for Nintendo 3DS?

On Wednesday, Nintendo of Japan announced the price point (25,000 yen in Japan, unannounced in other territories) and release date (Feb. 26 in Japan, March for U.S. and Europe) for 3DS. NintendoLife reviewed myDiary and gave it a commendable 8 points out of 10! You can read the full review below or click here to go straight to the NintendoLife site.

Everyone, take note

Nnooo has seen a fair amount of success with DSiWare. Originally starting off with Pop+ Solo, the developer really began to make its mark on the DSi with the myLifeCollected series, a set of applications for the DSi that started with myNotebook. Since then, Nnooo has moved onto other applications such as myPostcards and myNotebook: Carbon, Pearl and Tan. Now we have myDiary, and it comes as a worthy addition to the series. Q & A Interview with Nnooo creative director, Nic Watt

UK-born, Nic Watt’s pet project, Nnooo, has found remarkable success from a digital download platform that many dismiss – thanks in large part to Nintendo’s DSiWare platform, Watt has expanded his small team to four, and is now on the hunt for a senior programmer to expand further.

He sat down with us to have a chat around being a start up, the challenges of developing on other platforms (Nnooo also has WiiWare and iPhone games available, and is looking at the PlayStation Network), and makes some predictions for the future. Read the rest of this entry »

myNotebook: Carbon, Pearl, Tan – DSiWare App Review

As a follow-up to the successes of myNotebook, Nnooo made plans to launch 3 new additions to this selection of apps at a higher cost.
